Enjoy a therapeutic afternoon of creating with clay. In this workshop, you will make a ceramic planter just in time for spring! Ceramic artist Jenny Rijke will guide you through the process of handbuildling, teaching you the basics of forming clay into a functional piece.
You will be able to create one planter approximately 3"- 4.5" in size and a plate (either for your planter as a catch plate or a jewelry plate) You could also add holes to the rim to hang your new planter. You will have a choice of white stoneware, red/brown stoneware or marbling both clays together.
There will be a wide selection of tools and stamps available for you to impress into your clay. Please feel free to bring along anything you would like to use also (ex. Lace, doilies, florals/foilage, stamps, etc).
Jenny will bring your piece to her studio for it to dry, fire and be glazed to completion. Your piece can be picked up at the Freewheeling Indie x Local Preston Pop Up Shop a few weeks later.
This workshop is perfect for beginners as well as those with experience in clay.
